Welcome to “Never, Ever Gamble on the MAC”! This is a weekly gambling/non-gambling series where I make five picks against the spread and you do the following:
Don’t listen to my advice,
Follow your heart instead,
And just be wise enough to remember that you’re putting real money down on gambling what the outcomes of Mid-American Conference football games could be.
All odds used below are from various sportsbooks, visible through VegasInsider.

LAST WEEK: POSTED 1-4 RECORD
OVERALL ATS RECORD: 20-14

5 ATS PICKS (WEEK 8)
Central Michigan +3.5 at Eastern Michigan
I took EMU in my straight-up game picks yesterday, but I’m going to both sides this game by taking CMU to cover. EMU’s not unstoppable at home, and I haven’t fallen in love with the team’s defense enough to feel confident that it can clamp down in tight situations.
Miami -3.5 vs. Ohio
Again, Miami’s defense is probably built for this occasion. Miami’s capable of stopping the run, but that doesn’t mean it can just let WR Coleman Owen run free and get big plays through the air.
Buffalo +1 vs. Western Michigan
I already took Buffalo straight-up, and I’ll double-down on that here.
Kent State +20.5 at Bowling Green
I’m feeling nice for Kent State. I think that’s a team that’ll see a win sooner than Vegas will expect them to.
Toledo +2.5 at Northern Illinois
Really does suck to look at this game, which was once must-see MACtion (and still is sometimes), and now only think about their potential moves to the Mountian West. Terrible vibes, worth the hate-watch.
MAC GAME NOT PLAYING
Vanderbilt -27 vs. Ball State
