Welcome to another episode of Y11 Audio!
Eastern Michigan finished its first week of practices, and the team finally got to dress in full pads for Monday’s practice. The team is still looking for clarity in certain spots around the field, but overall it has plenty of answers (and options) to keep the team competitive on both sides of the ball this year.
That said, there needs to be some tempered expectations at positions that will feature first-year starters with the team. Mainly, I’m looking at quarterback, tight end, defensive end, and kicker. Still, I think this team looks really solid at wide receiver, linebacker, and interior defensive line.
Also, last week EMU reached a new height on the recruiting trail. This unofficial title didn’t last long, but EMU still got to see itself as having the MAC’s #1 recruiting class for the current cycle. That moment has since passed and EMU stands as having the #4 class in the MAC, but it was still a first for a program that doesn’t usually recruit to that level.
