2022 MAC Championship Final: Toledo 17, Ohio 7

I’m not going to say the referees have a rooting interest one way or another in these MAC games, let alone a super-important MAC championship contest for both sides.

Nope. I won’t go there. It’s just not in me to do that. I’d like to think that the MAC’s officiating crews has more maturity and pride than not.

Plus, what do these nameless people have to gain from trying to gift points towards any one team?

But if you watched the 2022 MAC title game game on Saturday between Toledo and Ohio, it looked like the calls were pretty one-sided. Tim Albin after the game wouldn’t condemn the officiating crew’s decisions and he’s probably in the right to hold back his actual thoughts.

He should be upset though, right? Toledo scored two touchdowns all game and it looked like both came after the officials made questionable calls to let the Rockets keep progressing towards the end zone.

No fumble by Newton?
